Kappa Group has focused on the design and development of products in conformance with international standards, right from its inception in 1966.
We design for a minimum life of thirty years for our products, and our robust designs, backed by good manufacturing practices, have ensured our reputation as a reputed and reliable manufacturer of quality products.
Our designs are backed up by extensive type testing to IEC and ANSI standards. Our notable pioneering developments include Draw-out Voltage transformers in the 1970’s, outdoor cyclo-aliphatic resin cast MV CT s and VT s in 1990’s, Din rail mounted CTs, CT s with capacitive indication, high current block type CT s , and 12 kV and 36 kV GIS VT s recently.
Our design expertise ensures a quick turnaround time for new developments and for customization to customers’ dimensions. Designs are computerized with automatic generation of BOMs, manufacturing instructions, labels. The design software also links with stores, and with our test equipment, thus strengthening the entire operations of the company.
Development of new products is managed effectively using our in-house development template which includes review of design inputs, calculations, design outputs, verification tests, stage-wise testing and validation at external labs. The process includes development of tools and dies, work instructions, training thereon, new stage and final test methods to guarantee product performance, and consideration of HSE requirements during the design, manufacture and operation of the products.
External tests are fed back into our design software to ensure automatic generation of material requirements and manufacturing instructions once the new products come into commercial production.
Detailed engineering drawings are prepared in-house, and our teams work closely with our suppliers to ensure that incoming material is received as per spec.
